Tennis

My journey in tennis.

Tennis has been a central part of my life since childhood. From a junior player in Berlin to college tennis in the United States and the ATP Tour, the sport has shaped me athletically, personally, and mentally.

On Tour

I started playing tennis at the age of six, and ever since, the sport has been a constant in my life. Early on, I had the opportunity to represent Germany at the U12 European Cup and to win Berlin championship titles from U9 through the men’s category. In 2020, I began my college tennis career in the United States while also gaining my first experience on the professional tour.

In 2022, I earned my first ATP point in Haren, Netherlands, and have been competing on tour ever since. Since 2023, I have been a regular starter in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga for TC 1899 Blau-Weiss Berlin. In December 2025, I had the honor of representing Germany at Master’U, the student team world championship in Reims, France.

Tennis taught me early on to act independently — on and off the court. Every decision, every mistake, and every success is ultimately your own responsibility. That has shaped my character: discipline, resilience, the ability to find clear solutions under pressure, and the willingness to keep developing. I love competing against others, but also against myself — because often the toughest opponent is not the player on the other side of the net, but yourself.

College Tennis

College tennis shaped me on three levels: athletically, academically, and personally. It allowed me to compete at the highest level, pursue my academic career at the same time, and continue developing as a person. It also pushed me out of my comfort zone — moving to a foreign country, studying in a second language, and balancing more than twenty hours of weekly training and competition.

Even though the start of my college career was not easy, that time became an unforgettable experience filled with incredible moments. Meeting so many people from all over the world and being able to call them not only teammates, but also friends, is something that is hard to put into words.

Flying from Berlin to Starkville, Mississippi in January 2020 was a real culture shock at first — just like my move to Jacksonville, Florida in January 2021. But I met so many great people who made life there much easier for me. Especially the last three years were exceptional for me — both athletically and personally.

The many titles and awards I was able to win together with my team and individually only reflect what an incredible journey my college tennis career was — full of challenges, joy, and unforgettable moments.
